The Royal British Legion and Members of the Liverpool Scottish
Regimental Association lead tribute at the Statue in Abercromby
Square, Liverpool in honour of Noel Chavasse and other Liverpool VC
winners and all Service people who lost their lives.
Every Man Remembered
Over 1 million Commonwealth Service men and women were killed during
the First World War. The losses were felt in almost every town and
village in the UK and throughout what was then the British Empire.
Members of the Liverpool Scottish Regimental Association joined
families of some of those who fought on that day 100 years ago, to
take part in a special memorial event on the battlefield site.
Hundreds of members of the 10th battalion King’s Liverpool Regiment,
the Liverpool Scottish, were killed or wounded in the Battle of Hooge
on June 16, 1915.
